A brief overview of Kirkcaldy ...

Kirkcaldy is
a town with something for everyone. All the amenities required for modern day life combine with a long and fascinating
historical past to make this a desirable and distinctive town in which to live and work. With a population of almost
50,000, the Royal Burgh of Kirkcaldy - this status was bestowed by King Charles I in 1644 - is home to a thriving, bustling
community. And with property prices on the rise, it offers good investment opportunities for house buyers.
What will
you find in Kirkcaldy? For starters, we have a very fine museum and art gallery. Then there's the Adam Smith Theatre. Named
after the famous economist born in Kirkcaldy in 1723, the theatre offers a wide and varied programme of live ballet, opera,
plays, music and comedy. And, of course, the town has good leisure facilities, excellent shopping, coffee houses,
restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
Those with a love of the outdoors will find that part of the attraction of living and working is Kirkcaldy is that you
are never too far from the countryside; the benefits of both town and country living can be enjoyed here at the same time.
Many of our most desirable housing estates are set amidst peaceful, airy woodlands. The outdoor attractions include several
fine, spacious public parks, an animal centre, a lake, the Fife Coastal Path, and a harbour and esplanade offering panoramic
views across the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh and along the varied Fife coastline.
Kirkcaldy
is surrounded by some of the loveliest towns and villages that Scotland has to offer, the fishing villages of the East
Neuk being particularly outstanding.
As the town is within easy motorway and rail commuting distance of Edinburgh, Dundee and Perth, it is a truly desirable
place in which to settle, and cheaper house prices make a higher standard of accommodation affordable.
If travelling by road from the south, you will probably arrive in Fife via the Forth Road Bridge. Continue on the M90
until Junction 2A, then follow the A92 to Kirkcaldy. The town is about 20 minutes by car from the Forth Bridge.
